Manual Wins Louisville Braveheart

The DuPont Manual High School Reddawgs took home a victory in the annual Sacred Heart Braveheart Tournament. Begun in 2007, the tourney features local talent and regional skill in the girls lacrosse arena. Congratulations Reddawgs!


The Manual Varsity team won the Sacred Heart Braveheart Tournament on Sunday March 22nd, defeating Westerville, Ohio 8-2. Maddie Boatright scored 3 goals, Kasey Ulenhuth scored 2, and Lee Ann Hughes, Kate Oliver and Karen Thai each scored one goal. Karen Thai from Manual was named the tournament MVP.


Leading up to the tournament final were three games. Manual got a forfeit on March 20th against Eastern HS who did not appear. On the 21st, Manual defeated Ursuline Academy (Ohio) 9-8 Manual goals were scored by Kasey Uhlenhuth (3), Kate Oliver (2), and one each by Victoria Bickett, Moriah Facktor, Lee Ann Hughes, and Meg Maloney. Also on the 21st, Manual defeated Westerville 7-6. Goals were scored by Victoria Bickett (2), and one each by Becky Jones, Meg Maloney, Kate Oliver, Lucy Peterson and Kasey Uhlenhuth. In the semi-finals on March 22nd, Manual defeated Mercy Academy 6-5. Goals were scored by Victoria Bickett (2), Kasey Uhlenhuth (2), Becky Jones (1) and Meg Maloney (1).
